Art in the Window from 3 Apr - 2 May 2026
ARTY SHOW celebrates art in shop windows for the fifth time. Once again, 20 artists are given the opportunity to present their work in twenty shops throughout Aarau’s old town. The old town becomes an open-air gallery for an entire month.
Stroll through the alleys and discover exciting, unexpected, inspiring or even quirky works. Explore on your own or join a guided tour.
The opening tour on Thursday offers a special opportunity to meet the artists, who will personally present and explain their “windows.” The evening will conclude with a vernissage at the Town Hall.
Free guided tours take place every Saturday. Each time, selected artists will accompany and enrich the tour. A great opportunity to learn more about the art, the artists, and the participating shops.
ARTY SHOW stands for open and accessible art for everyone and promotes exchange, discussion, and encounters centered around art.
Contest: Find the hidden artichoke! Visitors are invited to find the canned artichoke hearts in one of the 20 shop windows.
The first ten correct answers sent to aarau@arty-show.ch will receive a fan as a prize.
